What is recorded here

Gallán stood high above the Sullane River in County Cork, a lone stone marked on maps by 1940 but erased before modern memory. It vanished during land reclamation, likely dragged into soil for farming rather than broken in anger. The river still flows beneath the pasture where it stood, carrying the shape of that lost marker into every storm.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Marked on 1940 OS 6-inch map as single standing stone. In pasture, on S side of Sullane River, high above riverlevel. Removed during land reclamation.
