What is recorded here

Galláin is a pair of parallel standing stones in County Cork pasture, recorded on the 1939 OS map and measured at 1.23m and 0.68m high. They stand close together near a ringfort, aligned NE-SW, while an earlier observer saw only one stone. The discrepancy suggests one may have fallen, hidden by grass, or misread in shadow. Whatever vanished, the remaining pair still marks the field like a sentence broken in half.

Two parallel stones (H 1.23m; 0.4m x 0.37m: H 0.68m; 1m x 0.35m) stand close together: long axes NE-SW. Hartnett (PJH) recorded only one stone (H 21/2ft).
