What is recorded here

A probable iron furnace excavated by Graham Hull (02E0872) and described as 'a single, subcircular scoop was excavated, measuring 0.86m (north- south) by 0.65m. The sides of the feature sloped gently down to an uneven base, 0.05m deep. The fill was a fine, dark grey/black silt, containing charcoal and small quantities of iron slag.'
