Fulachta Fiadh marked a hunting camp kitchen where heated stones dropped into water brought fresh prey to the boil. That simple machine turned hunger into hospitality and exposed the camp to danger because smoke and noise gave away every person present. The lake now covers the stones and memory, but the function remains clear: heat water, cook food, remain visible.

Shown on 1938 OS 6-inch map on E side of stream. No evidence of site; area flooded by artificial lake in sand and gravel works. Two other fulachta fiadh closeby (CO061-120002-; CO061-121----) also flooded. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
