Fulacht Fian

Marked as a fulacht fia only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the floor of the W-E Blackwater Stream which is c. 200m to the S. It was described in 1939 as a kidney-shaped mound of chared stones and black earth (dims c. 10m N-S; c. 5m E-W; H c. 1.3m) open slightly to the W where there was a N-S drain (OSFM). It was also noted by Ranson (1945, 54), but no feature is visible at ground level in pasture in 1987. The possible standing stone (WX006-012----) is c. 150m to the S and the possible standing stone (WX006-014----) is c. 190m to the E.
