What is recorded here

Fulacht fiadh are common burnt mounds from the Middle Bronze Age, but their exact purpose still evades definition. Water self-filled the hidden troughs, yet no consistent artifact has confirmed whether people cooked, bathed, brewed or made cloth there. The mound itself records repeated heat and labour, while the missing evidence preserves the mystery.

In pasture, c. 30m SE of ringfort (12683). Barely perceptible mound of burnt material (H 0.4m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
