Fulacht fia in Tintagh is a fulacht fia in Tintagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. The kidney-shaped mound of fire-cracked sandstone sits in a boggy upland hollow and opened to reveal two primary troughs. A central oval trough and a western subcircular trough share a pot-boiler between them, while a third oval trough cuts the southeastern edge. None of these features were lined.
In a boggy upland hollow. A kidney-shaped mound (dims. 13m E-W; 7m N-S; H 0.5-0.75m) of fire-cracked sandstone open to the S was excavated (96E0117) revealing two primary troughs. At the centre was an oval trough (dims 3m NE-SW; 1.55m NW-SE; D 0.2-0.45m) with a subcircular trough (dims 1.9m N-S; 1.45m E-W; D 0.3m) at the W end of the mound with a pot-boiler between them, all of which were broadly contemporary although the W trough was less developed. A third oval trough (dims 2m NW-SE; 1.7m NE-SW; D 0.5-0.8m) cut the SE edge of the central trough, None of the troughs were lined. (Opie 1996, 1997b)
