About 10m from the W bank of a S-N stream. Archaeological excavation (E2823) during 2007 at Tarduff East 1 as part of the Athlone to Ballinasloe N6 road development revealed a burnt mound (dims 9.2m N-S; 6.85m E-W; max. T 0.4m) overlying a circular trough (diam. 1.5m; D 0.22m), with a second rectangular trough (dims 1.35m N-S; 2.2m E-W; D 0.2m), which appeared to be truncated at W, just 3m to the S. Fulacht fia (RO052-110002-) is c. 15m to the SSW. (Conboy 2010b; 2010e, 10-11).
