Fulacht fia in Pollnacroaghy

In rough pasture, dotted with clumps of ferns, yellow flag and willow scrub. Located in the narrow valley of the meandering, W-flowing Dalgan River, 10m N of the river on a strip of level ground, with the rising slope of the valley a few meters to N of the mound. There are relatively open views along the river course to E, but willow scrub restricts views to W. A low, compact grass-covered kidney-shaped mound (9m E−W; 6m N−S; H 0.5m) composed of stone fragments in charcoal-rich soil. The shallow C-shaped indentation or hollow (2.6m E−W; 2m N−S) on the N side between the ‘arms’ of the mound probably indicates the location of a trough.
