Half a metre deep and built of fitted planks, the lost Milleens trough still stands remembered though no one marks its field. Heat and water moved through that wooden chamber, perhaps cooking for a feast or cleaning for a ritual. The exact ground has faded from memory, but the craftsmanship remains clear enough to imagine hands shaping it and bodies gathering around the steam.

According to Mitchell (1951, 178) 'a wooden trough 2ft 6in (0.75m) deep and well constructed of wooden planks' was found in a fulacht fia in the townland of Milleens in the 1940s. This fulacht fia was also listed in an appendix of fulachtaí fia by O'Kelly (1954, 151). It has not been precisely located.
