Discovered during archaeological monitoring in advance of the construction of the N8 Glanmire-Watergrasshill Bypass and excavated in 2001. Excavation revealed a roughly U-shaped spread of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil (11.6m x 7m: max. D 0.2m) which enclosed a central unlined trough (1.45m x 1.1m; D 0.32m).
