Fulacht fia in Maulcallee

In rough hill pasture, on blanket bog, on the NE-facing slopes of Knocknagullion and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE091-114009-). A horseshoe-shaped mound (12.6m NE-SW; 9m NW-SE; H 1.25m) of burnt material, which protrudes above the surface of the bog, is covered with gorse and heather. The opening (3.4m NE-SW; 2m NW-SE) faces a stream to the NW and some burnt material is exposed on its E side. There is a hut site (KE091-114005-) c. 30m to the NW.
