Fulacht fia in Knockroe (inchiquin By.)

Knockroe holds a broad oval mound of burnt stone inside a wet hollow, marking an ancient kitchen where heat and water turned rock into life. It sits sixteen metres from a holy well, joining temporary hunger to permanent devotion. People may have gathered there to cook, clean or celebrate before carrying water upward into the world. The mound still breathes beneath its poached surface, waiting for hands to remember the work it did.
