Knockacullen holds a fulacht fia beside a standing stone, where hot stones once cracked water for cooking or cleansing. The marsh still remembers heat because burnt material lies scattered through the ploughed field. People may have gathered there to share food, mark a boundary or transform water into steam. The stone and scarred earth suggest the place was used, remembered and eventually buried under ordinary farming life.
