Fulacht fia in Killoran (moyne Par.)

Situated on flat bogland. The fulacht fia consisted of a wicker-lined trough (dims. 1.8m x 1.1m x 0.6m) with a spread of burnt material (dims. 5.5m N-S x 6.5m E-W) and a stone and timber platform (5m N-S x 2.3m E-W) directly S and E of the trough respectively. From a technical assessment of the volume of the mound material the excavator suggested a possible figure of 80 firings over the life of the site.
