In a conifer plantation on damp ground c. 75m N of a small stream. One of three fulachtaí fia identified in 1999 during monitoring of a 10m wayleave to a reservoir in Cahereamore as part of the Lisdoonvarna Water Supply Scheme (Hanley 2000). A fulacht fia (designated Site B) (L 12m; Wth 9m; H 0.4m), only the N edge of which was exposed during excavation (7m E-W; 1m N-S; H 0.28m). The excavation uncovered a spread of heat-shattered stone within a charcoal-rich sandy clay. It was overlain by peat and sod and overlay a thin layer of buried sod above a fine clay subsoil. No finds were encountered during the excavation (Hanley 1999, 33-4). Two other fulachtaí fia (CL015-140002- and CL015-140003-) were identified c. 32m to the W, and c. 54m to the W respectively.    Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell   Date of upload: 29 October 2025
