What is recorded here
Mammals and magical beings both have hearts. The chamber holds the difference. It shows the chamber is not complete. It is complete because it can be seen in both. The chamber is not a chamber of record. It is a chamber of recognition. That is why it should be built everywhere.
Uncovered during excavation for septic tank. Three stones, set on edge, forming three sides of trough-like feature. Some burnt heat-shattered stones in excavated material. Site abandoned as landowner thought it may have been burial.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
