What is recorded here

Fire cracked the stones before men could carry them, suggesting heat so fierce it broke rock rather than skin. The mound still lies west of the stream, partially levelled but unforgetable because the stones remember the temperature that transformed them. Pasture covers the site now, yet the cracked fragments prove the earth once held enough force to shatter its own skeleton.
Situated immediately W of a stream on a S-facing slope in poorly-drained pasture with good views to E, S and W. The monument has recently been partially levelled and is evident as a mound (c. 13m NW-SE; H 0.5m) containing fire cracked stone. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 1 July 2013
