Fulacht fia in Cashelkeelty

In rough hill pasture, on the E bank of a stream, on the lower NE-facing slopes of Knocknaveacal. A grass-covered oval mound (10m NW-SE; 7m SW-NE; H 1m) of burnt material. Outcropping rock abuts the mound at S. A NW-SE field boundary extends NW from this outcrop and along the W edge of the mound. Burnt material is exposed along the bank of the stream, under the field boundary. A spread of heat-shattered stones on cultivation ridges extends c. 16m to the N. A stone row (KE108-013002-) stands c. 50m to the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
