The site was excavated (E3494) during 2005 as Site 33 of the N11 Gorey to Arklow link. Situated in a low-lying area on the S bank of a small ESE-WNW stream, although an older course of the stream ran just S of it. A semi-circular mound of broken and burnt stone (dims 15m E-W; 11m N-S; T 0.25m) was used in conjunction with a steep-sided, pear-shaped trough (dims 2m x 1.8m; D 0.7m). There was a cluster of stake-holes just N of the trough, and two concentrations of charcoal on the S bank of the old stream are interpreted as hearths.
