Fulacht fia in Ballyarra

Hearth (L 0.8m; Wth 0.4m; D 0.08m) containing fill of charcoal, associated with levelled fulacht fiadh. Uncovered during excavation of gas pipeline(Cleary et al. 1987, 8, no.70). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
