Causeway Street in Port Rush carries a blue plaque marking the birthplace of Fred Daly, the golfer who won The Open Championship in 1947. The small brass plate turns an ordinary house wall into a tournament memory, inviting passersby to imagine a child running past that address before becoming a world champion. Ulster History Circle recorded the fact, preserving Daly's home origin alongside his greatest sporting achievement.
