Leitir Mhic an Bhaird was a single-ringed fort on a Donegal slope above the Gweebarra, now erased from memory and perhaps from the grass itself. It may have held a family, a herdsman or a fleeing person when the river valley still belonged to human choices. The fairies keep the better stories, and they keep them from us. What is missing is not nothing; it is a room with the doors removed.

No trace of this single-ringed 'Fort' now survives. It was originally sited on a slope N of the Gweebarra river mainly pasture land.
