What is recorded here

No trace of the Former Dristernan Fairy Fort remains, though a single ring once stood in cultivated land above the Gleneely river. The earth has swallowed the stone, erasing the border between human history and fairy legend. What was built or buried has vanished without warning, leaving only the river and the slope to remember.

No trace of this monument, marked as a single-ringed 'Fort' on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, now exists. It was situated in well-cultivated land which slopes towards the W overlooking the Gleneely river. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
