Ford in Unknown Townland is a ford in County Dublin, Ireland. Perhaps horses splashed through shallow water while people watched the road disappear into mist. Maybe the ford still holds the shape of hooves and boot soles. Imagine a rider crossing at dusk, certain the other side exists because the water gave way.
