Ford in Newcastle (rahoon Par.) is a hidden river crossing beside Jordan's Island where swords and prehistoric tools still surface from the Corrib. Castles on opposite banks watched the water, but no bridge or road mark remains for anyone to walk. The river keeps its own ledger, returning lost things only when it chooses.

Across the River Corrib in the vicinity of Jordan's Island. The discovery of a number of stray finds from this section of the river, including prehistoric artifacts, La Tène and 16th-C swords, suggests the existence of a crossing point here, as do the presence of the castles on opposite banks (GA094-040----, GA082-080001-).
