One chamber lost its identity when the whole town turned to fire. The font in Dromiskin is a small square stone with a round hollow, no larger than a bread box, yet it is still called a font because water and memory need little space. It stands south of the round tower in County Louth, where the monastic place once stood. The numbers are small, but the shape is clear: a box made by people, a hollow made for life.

A small font said to have come from the monastery is now kept at a house immediately S of the round tower (LH012-046003-). It is square shaped (0.47m by 0.49m; H 0.35m) with a circular depression (0.29m by 0.27m; D 0.19m). (SMR file) Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 18 April 2012
