What is recorded here

Downings North preserves a broken curved font fragment, maybe baptising children for centuries before hardship or reform cut it free. The parish church still stands beside that wounded stone, keeping a clean edge of water and witness.
In a medieval parish church (KD013-008002-). A broken fragment of curved, worked stone (dims. L 0.86m; H 0.35m) may be part of a baptismal font. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
