Floutgate Scar is a sea cliff composed primarily of Jurassic limestone, formed around 160 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its dramatic coastal exposure and as part of the Yorkshire Coast's extensive geological heritage, which includes well-preserved fossils and key stratigraphic markers.
