Fiona Shaw

Fiona Shaw was born Fiona Mary Wilson in Farranree, County Cork, Ireland, on 10 July 1958. She is the second of four children of physicist Mary T. Wilson and ophthalmic surgeon Denis Joseph Wilson. Her younger brother Peter died in a car accident at eighteen, a loss that may have sharpened the edge of her later stage work. She studied philosophy at University College Cork before joining the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
