What is recorded here

Situated in a low-lying undulating landscape. A series of rectangular fields (dims. up to c. 60m by c. 40m) defined by banks, scarps and ditches is attached to motte and bailey (ME022-010----) on the N side and covers about 18 acres (c. 7 ha). There are smaller fields closer to the motte, and within the fields are the mounds (ME022-008----; ME022-009----) and the moated site (ME022-006----). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 10 January 2019
