What is recorded here

In low-lying and gently undulating pasture, to the immediate W of Ahnavar stream. An enclosure (LI023-041----) and a ring-barrow (LI023-288----) lie within the E and W portions, respectively. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as several linear and slightly curvilinear-shaped cropmarks by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 269.02: AP 4/3711). Anomalies are visible as a series of at least three roughly linear and slightly curvilinear-shaped cropmarks (approx. L 445m) running approx. ENE-WSW and with some shorter cropmarks intersecting at a right angle, covering an area of at least 9ha on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Digital Globe aerial orthophoto taken 2011-2013. This field system is best seen on Google Earth orthoimage taken 06/02/2018, where a series of intersecting linear cropmarks form small rectilinear fields to S of ring-barrow (LI023-288----). See attached Google Earth orthoimage 06/02/2018 and Bruff aerial survey image labelled Bruff 269.02. Compiled by: Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 14 September 2020
