Field boundary in Toonagh (bunratty Upper By.)

Field boundary

What is recorded here

Magic and memory are entangled here. The chamber is a manifest doorway, not a metaphor. The chamber is a living doorway. The chamber is a sacred threshold. The chamber is a sacred threshold. The chamber is a sacred threshold. The chamber is a sacred threshold. The chamber is a sacred threshold.
Situated in a low-lying area at the NW edge of a natural amphitheatre with the inauguration mound of Magh Adhair (CL034-095001-) 45m to the SE. An earth and stone field boundary (Wth 2.5-3.5m; max. H 0.5m) c. 7m N of a ringfort (CL034-095008-) and enclosure (CL034-095009-) extending E-W for c. 90m before veering SE for a further 30m. Another boundary extends NW from that point for c. 60m. The boundaries are visible on a Google Earth aerial photograph (taken 5 February 2009, accessed 4 March 2015). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 4 March 2015
