Field boundary in Gortlahard (glanarought By., Cappagh Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on a gentle W-facing slope, in the valley of the Sheen River. A collapsed, curvilinear stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) protrudes intermittently above the surface of the bog (D 0.5m) and extends in a general N direction for c. 50m. A cutaway section of bog reveals that the base stones of the wall are set in clay. Stones from collapsed courses lie in bog beside the wall. Two hut sites (KE102-078009-, KE102-078013-) are c. 90m to the E and the ESE, respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
