Field boundary in Gortacreenteen

In dry hill pasture, to the N of a river, on the lower SE-facing slopes of Gullaba Hill. Relict field walls, most of which are partly collapsed, cover an area measuring c. 150m N-S x c. 80m E-W. The walls (T c. 0.5; H c. 0.5m), which form an irregular, broken pattern, protrude above thin peat cover and disappear in deeper bog. Upright stone slabs (H 0.4-0.5m) occur intermittently along the walls. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
