Field boundary in Derreenacahill

In level, cutaway bog which is now grass covered. An exposed section of relict field wall (T 1m; H 0.1-0.5m) extends c. 120m in a general N to NNW direction. In the northernmost section, where there is some peat cover, the stones protrude through the peat. In places, the wall disappears under deeper, uncut bog. Upright slabs, set at right angles to line of wall, were noted in several places. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
