Field boundary in Cappagh (glanarought By.)

In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A relict field wall extends downslope for c. 50m in a general W direction from a point c. 10m NW of a hut site (KE093-055----). It then curves around in a S-SW direction for a further c. 60m before disappearing into the bog. In the initial E-W section the wall (Wth 0.6m; H 0.8m) is partly constructed of non-contiguous upright slabs, the long axes of which are in line with the boundary. The NE-SW section reaches a max. H of 0.5m. Another relict field boundary (KE093-055003-) is c. 70m to the ESE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
