Field boundary in Cappagh (glanarought By.)

In rough pasture, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A linear E-W field boundary extends across the hillslope for over 180m. It survives as a collapsed drystone wall (T c. 0.6m; H 0.7m), the basal stones of which protrude from the bog. Collapsed material is evident on the downslope (S) side. At two points along its length, at c. 100m and c. 180m from the E end, the wall is crossed by two S-flowing rivers, situated c. 80m apart. The field wall adjoins the straight NE side of a hut site (KE093-095002-) and forms the N side of an enclosure (KE093-095005-). Two adjoining hut sites (KE093-095001-, KE093-095006-) are in the immediate vicinity. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
