Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, extant 1950, on a rectangular plan centred on single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting glazed porch to ground floor; two-bay two-storey rear (south) elevation. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having stepped capping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber box eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Roughcast walls with rusticated rendered piers to corners. Hipped square-headed central door opening into farmhouse, timber doorcase with monolithic pilasters supporting shallow cornice, and concealed dressings framing timber panelled door having sidelights below overlight. Square-headed window openings with sills, and rendered "bas-relief" surrounds framing six-over-six timber sash windows. Set in landscaped grounds with roughcast piers to perimeter having capping supporting replacement arrow head-detailed mild steel double gates.
A farmhouse representing an integral component of the domestic built heritage of south County Wexford with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on a Classically-detailed doorcase demonstrating good quality workmanship, albeit one partly concealed behind a later porch; and the uniform or near-uniform proportions of the openings on each floor. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of the composition. Furthermore, adjacent "tin roofed" outbuildings (extant 1840) continue to contribute positively to the group and setting values of a self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
