What is recorded here

Detached four-bay two-storey farmhouse, extant 1902, on an L-shaped plan off-centred on single-bay two-storey projecting bay; four-bay two-storey rear (south) elevation. Reroofed, ----. Replacement pitched artificial slate roof on an L-shaped plan off-centred on hipped artificial slate roof, ridge tiles, concrete coping to gables with cement rendered chimney stacks to apexes having precast concrete chamfered capping, and uPVC rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Roughcast battered walls bellcast over rendered plinth. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows. Set in landscaped grounds perpendicular to road.
A farmhouse representing an integral component of the domestic built heritage of south County Wexford with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the angular plan form; and the somewhat disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing compounded by the uniform or near-uniform proportions of the openings on each floor: meanwhile, such traits as the alignment perpendicular to the road; and the feint battered silhouette, all suggest the vernacular basis of the composition. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of the composition. Furthermore, adjacent outbuildings (extant 1902) continue to contribute positively to the group and setting values of a self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a rural street scene.
