What is recorded here

Pollacappul holds a worn stone ring where a rectangular house still leans against the inner wall, proving the fort served people before myths claimed it. The grassy bank cutting across the middle may mark an older division inside the living space, while field walls have since bitten through the completed circle. That is a fairytale name laid over a Galway homestead, yet the stone chamber and tilted boundary remain visible in the level grassland.

On a hillock in level grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular cashel (N-S 46.2m, E-W 42m) defined by a grassed-over drystone wall with traces of an external batter at NNW. A field wall cuts the monument at NE and S. A grassed-over stony bank (L 34m), running NE-SW, through N half of the interior could be original. Built into the inner face of the enclosing element at NW are the foundations of a rectangular stone structure (NW-SE; L 11m, Wth 4m); possibly a house.
