Altar Fort, marked on old OS maps, is a ruined stone ringfort with a twenty-metre internal diameter on a south-facing ridge in Craig. Its wall, originally eighty-five centimetres to one metre wide, survives best on the west side, enclosing a circular space where scattered stones form no clear pattern. The name may derive from Penal times use, suggesting the fort served hidden worship or resistance rather than ordinary farm life.

Internal diam. c. 20m. Marked 'Altar Fort' on the 2nd and 3rd editions of the OS 6-inch maps. The site consists of a circular space enclosed by a ruined stone wall which survives best on the W side. It was originally from .85m to 1m in width. There are a few stones in the interior but they form no clear pattern. The name of the site possibly derives from its use in Penal times. The site is located on the S-facing slope of an E-W ridge in light-soiled pasture with some rock outcrop. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
