Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Coolteige is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Coolteige, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular grass and fern-covered area on a shelf towards the top of a north-facing karst limestone slope. A grass-covered stone spread and shallow scarp define the perimeter, while a field wall connects to the southeast edge.
On a shelf towards the top of a N-facing slope of karst limestone. This is a circular grass and fern-covered area (int. dims 28.1m N-S; 25.7m E-W) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 2.6-4m; H 0.2-0.5m) NNE-S-NNW, and a scarp (H 0.2m) elsewhere. There is no identifiable original entrance but a field wall from the field system (RO036-018003-) is connected to the perimeter at SE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
