Marianne and her sister were playing in the field beside the stone ring when Marianne saw a tiny woman dancing between the rocks. The woman had red hair and a blue dress, and she invited them inside the circle. Marianne refused because her mother had warned her never to enter fairy places, but her sister ran in and vanished with the dancer. Marianne called for help, and a man drove his cart through the field at midnight. The wheel broke on a hidden stone, spilling carrots across the ground, and the sister returned crying that the fairies had forgotten her name until the carrots reminded them she was human.

Internal diam. c. 22m. Originally marked as a 'Fort', and subsequently as a 'Children's Burial Ground' (DG020-008002-) on the OS 6-inch maps. The remains are overgrown and have been eroded by ploughing, so that the stone-built enclosing wall survives only on the E side, to a maximum height of 1.5m. There is a possible entrance on the W side and stones in the interior may mark burials. It is situated in a cultivated field, which slopes towards the E to the Glentogher river.
