What is recorded here

No visible trace survives in Caheraloggy East, though a cashel once stood in level pastureland. Its wall measured three metres wide and less than a metre high before field rubble and destruction erased the seam. The foramen may have been a fort, a marker or a child’s invention, but the land still remembers the shape of what it swallowed.

In level pastureland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 218, no. 57) as a circular ‘Earthen fort’ (diam. c. 33m) but described as a cashel, the enclosing wall (Wth 3m; H 0.8m) of which partially destroyed at SE.
