What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human dwellings, farmsteads, refuge places, or boundary markers misnamed later. The real wonder is that people lived there, tended that ground, and disappeared from the story. The fairy label is a confession of forgotten history.

On a gentle E-facing slope in undulating pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). This subcircular cashel (int. dims. 20.5m NW-SE; 19.6m NE-SW; ext. dims. 25m NW-SE; 24m NE-SW) is defined by grass-covered stone spill and the denuded remains of a double-faced wall (Wth 2.3m at WNW; H 0.4-0.5m), the facing stones of which are traceable in places.
