Mortons and company dropped gold coins into the fort at Newrow, believing the fairies would multiply the treasure overnight. Instead the coins vanished completely, carrying the greed of every human heart into the earth. The fort kept what it was given and returned nothing, teaching that some doors only open outward.

There is virtually no trace, other than a slight rise, of the single-ringed 'Fort' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was situated on the shoulder of a hill falling away in all directions and especially to the W and S. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
