Fairy fort in Gortnamona, County Galway: a 28.3-metre circular earthwork on an open rise, its low bank still clearest from south through west to north-east. People may have lived there, marked a boundary, or simply kept a shape they believed should not be broken. The field edge pressing against the east suggests the fort never fully disappeared, only stopped being explained.

On a rise in undulating farmland. Poorly preserved circular enclosure (D 28.3m) defined by a low earthen bank, best preserved from S through W to NE.
