What is recorded here

Enniskeen hides a vanished fort on a slight rise above low-lying ground. It resisted every attempt to picture it because no wall, ditch or entrance remained visible. The land itself had erased the shape of human ambition. What was built there is gone, but the rise still marks the place where people once drew a line around their lives.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Situated on a slight rise in otherwise low-lying ground. Not visible at ground level.
