Fairy fort and ringfort in Clonagannagh, County Offaly, Ireland. A low natural hillock in flat land still carries a circular raised area thirty-two metres wide, enclosed by a two-metre earthen bank rising seventy centimetres, with a faint fosse at the south-east and a possible entrance gap at the east. People may have lived there, excluded others, or simply marked the boundary between the ordinary field and the unfathomable dark.

Situated on a low natural hillock in flat land. Raised circular area (diam 32m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.7m) with slight evidence of a fosse at SE and possible entrance gap at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
